1. March Test Series / Maart toetsreeks
Thank you for those who have already submitted their March Test Series papers. For those who haven't done it yet, remember this is very serious: You MUST submit it to us. If you don't do it, you won't get your final marks by the end of 2010. (All your portfolio work must be submitted in order for you to receive your marks for the final exams!) Friday was actually the D-date for submission. Please submit the March papers as soon as possible. / Baie dankie vir dié van julle wat reeds julle Maart toetsreeks ingestuur het. Vir dié van julle wat dit nog nie gedoen het nie, onthou, hierdie is 'n ernstige saak: Jy MOET dit vir ons instuur. As jy dit nie doen nie, kan jy nie jou eindeksamen punte vir 2010 kry nie. (Al jou portefeuljewerk moet ingestuur word, sodat jy uiteindelik jou eindeksamenpunte kan kry!) Vrydag was eintlik die laaste dag vir indiening. Stuur jou Maart toetse asb so gou moontlik in.
2. LOR 2010
We finally received the translation for Gr 12 LOR. It is attached for your convenience.
3. OAER Registrasie 2010 / OAER Registration 2010
Baie dankie vir dié van julle wat reeds julle OAER Registrasiedokumente volledig by ons ingehandig het. Vrydag was in wese die laaste dag vir indiening van die dokumente. Hierdie is selfs nog ernstiger as die vorige saak: Indien ons nie jou volledige registrasiedokumente (5 bladsye OAER vorms, Gr 10 en 11 sertifikate, Gr 12 sertifikaat waar toepaslik, 2 volkleur ID foto's, 'n gewaarmerkte afskrif van die kandidaat se ID dokument, en Amanuensisvorms waar toepaslik) voor Vrydag 14 Mei 2010 ontvang nie, sal ons die kandidaat moet deregistreer. Daar is 'n hele paar ouers wat glo hulle dokumente by ons ontvangs ingehandig het, maar die dokumente het verlore geraak. Dien asb weer daardie dokumente in? Ek is verskriklik jammer vir die ongerief, maar ek het nie jou dokumente ontvang nie! / Thank you for those who have already submitted their OAER registration in full. Friday was actually also the D-date for submission of your forms. This is even more serious than the previous one: If we don't receive your registration documents in full (5 pages OAER forms, Gr 10 and 11 certificates, Gr 12 certificate if applicable, 2 full colour ID photos, certified copy of the candidate's ID document, and Amanuensis forms if applicable) before Friday 14 May 2010, we will have to deregister the candidate. There are quite a few parents who allegedly submitted their documents at our reception, but the documents got lost. Please submit the documents again? I am very sorry for the inconvenience, but I did not receive your documents!
4. Delta Winter School 2010
According to the Year Planner the Delta Winter School would take place from 24 June to 2 July. We have, however, received too many complaints about the time ("Soccer World Cup") and the venue (Brakpan), as well as other minor complaints. Then we decided to change the date and venue.
The Delta Winter School will now take place on 19-21 July 2010 in Pretoria at the DRC in Monument Road Lyttelton. You will have to get your own accommodation. The entry fees are R50 per day. Please complete the attached entry forms and send it back to us. The last date for submission is Tuesday 1 July.
At the Delta Winter School we will discuss the June exams as well as any problems the candidates have with their work. We will, however, not do any practical work at the Winter School. The subject authors of these subjects (like Hospitality Studies and EGD) will contact you about practical exams.
5. Impak Winterskool 2010
Volgens die Jaarbeplanner sou die Impak Winterskool vanaf 24 Junie tot 2 Julie plaasvind. Ons het egter te veel klagtes gekry oor die tyd ("Sokker Wêreldbeker") en die plek (Brakpan), sowel as ander kleiner klagtes. Dit het ons laat besluit om die tyd en die plek te skuif.
Die Impak Winterskool vind nou plaas op 12-14 Julie 2010 by Altelekker Kampterrein in Irene. Die kampkostes beloop R700 en sluit volledige etes en akkommodasie in. Voltooi asb die aangehegte vorms en stuur dit vir ons terug saam met die bewys van betaling. Die laaste dag vir indiening is Dinsdag 15 Junie. Geen laat inskrywings sal aanvaar word nie.
By die Impak Winterskool word die Junie-eksamens bespreek, sowel as enige probleme wat die kandidate met hulle werk sou ondervind. Ons sal egter nie praktiese werk by die Winterskool doen nie. Die vakouteurs van daardie vakke (soos Gasvryheidstudie en IGO) sal jou kontak oor die praktiese eksamens.

Hierdie is die eerste amptelike brief van die Impak Wenspan aan jou. Ek sal elke brief aan die groep nommer sodat jy kan tred hou met die briewe en seker maak dat jy nie een mis nie. / This is the first official letter from the Delta Winning Team to you. I will number each letter to the group in order for you to keep track and to know that you did not miss out on a letter.
First of all, welcome to each one of the Matric candidates, and to eveyone who will be working with them to make this year a big success for them! Secondly, a few important remarks: / Heel eerste: Baie welkom aan elkeen van ons Matriek kandidate en aan elkeen wat saam met hulle sal werk om hierdie jaar 'n groot sukses vir hulle te maak! Tweedens, 'n paar belangrike opmerkings:
- I will always send the letters to both parents and support centres. / Ek sal altyd die briewe vir beide die ouers en die hulpsentrums stuur.
- If one little bit of your contact details (cell no, address, etc.) changes during the year, don't forget to let me know! / As een klein deeltjie van jou kontakbesonderhede (selnr, adres, ens.) gedurende die jaar verander, moenie vergeet om my te laat weet nie!
- Maak asb doodseker dat jou OAER registrasievorms volledig by ons is teen 31 Maart 2010. Onthou dat daar nie 'n Matriekdag vir hierdie jaar was nie. / Please take care that all your OAER registration documents are with us by 31 March 2010. Remember that we did not have a Matric day this year.
- Neem asb goed kennis van elke dokument wat aan hierdie e-pos geheg is, en lees dit deeglik deur. / Please take note of every document attached to this e-mail, and carefylly read it.
- Baie belangrik: Winterskool is vanaf 24 Junie tot 2 July in Brakpan (Prins Georgelaan 581). / Very important: Winter school is from 24 June to 2 July in Brakpan (581 Prince George Ave).
- Delta clients: The Gr 12 candidates must please do the March test series, because it forms part of their portfolio. I am aware that you received a letter to the contrary, but that letter actually applies only to the learners up to Gr 11.
- Outstanding material!: Please note that all the outstanding books we had in store are packed and posted. If you indicated that you would come and fetch it, and you did not receive an sms, please phone our reception and make sure they have it, so you can come in and fetch it. / Uitstaande materiaal!: Neem asb kennis dat alle uitstaande materiaal wat ons in voorraad gehad het gepak en gepos is. As jy aangedui het dat jy dit sou kom haal, en jy het nog nie 'n sms gekry nie, kontak asb ons ontvangs en maak seker dat hulle dit daar het, en kom haal dit.

I haven't got the full details per subject for every candidate as yet. This is the reason why I am sending the outstanding details per subject to every candidate - I am sorry for that one! The info is, however, too important to keep it back from you! / Ek het nog nie die volledige besonderhede per vak vir elke kandidaat nie. Dit is die rede waarom ek die uitstaande besonderhede per vak aan elke kandidaat stuur - ek is jammer daaroor! Die inligting is egter te belangrik om dit van die kandidate te weerhou!
Religion Studies: Please note that the June exam will also consist of two papers, and not one as indicated in the parent guide. / Godsdiensstudie (Religiestudie): Neem asb kennis dat die Junie eksamen ook uit twee vraestelle bestaan, en nie net uit een soos in die ouergids aangedui nie.
Geagte Ouer en Hulpsentrumhoof / Dear Parent and Head of the Support Centre
Neem asb kennis van die volgende: / Please take note of the following:
- The marks of the Supplementary exams will only be available on 19 April 2010 and not 12 April. / Die punte van die aanvullingseksamens sal eers op 19 April beskikbaar wees en nie op 12 April nie.
- All the candidates will receive their final marks per e-mail or fax (unless you still owe Delta some money). / Al die kandidate sal hulle finale punte per e-pos of faks ontvang (tensy daar nog Impakgelde uitstaande is).
- All (and only) the candidates who wrote the supplementary exams and failed, will have the opportunity to enrol at Delta for 2010 before 22 April 2010. / Al die (en slegs die) kandidate wat die aanvullingseksamens geskryf het en gepluk het, het die geleentheid om voor 22 April 2010 by Impak in te skryf vir 2010.
- No further enrolments for Gr 12 for 2010 will be allowed or accepted. / Geen verdere inskrywings vir Gr 12 vir 2010 sal aanvaar of ontvang word nie.
- The final certificates will be issued by Umalusi by the end of September 2010. We will send it to you. Please phone us during the middle of September to confirm your addresses. / Die finale sertifikate word deur Umalusi uitgereik teen die einde van September 2010. Ons sal dit vir jou stuur. Bel ons asb in die middel van September om jou adres te bevestig.
