Legal aspects

Articles 3, 4 and 51 of the South African Schools Act 84 of 1996 make provision for home-schooling and specific conditions and requirements apply.
It remains the responsibility of all users of Delta Education to acquaint them of relevant legislation.
Delta compiled a brochure entitled "Delta and Legal aspects" with the rights and duties of the parent and child in home-schooling. It is of paramount importance that you obtain this brochure from head office and scrutinise it for your own peace of mind.
The Pestalozzi Trust is a legal aid fund, run by legalists and educationalists, founded on the express purpose of defending, protecting and promoting the constitutional rights of the homeschooling community. Delta Education pays a monthly premium towards the Pestalozzi Trust to ensure that Delta Education as well as every enrolled family, learner and registered centre enjoy legal protection against any and all intervention of authorities, civil servants or whatever other person or institution.
