Syllabus/Curriculum

Which syllabus/ curriculum does Delta Education use?

Delta Education sees its duty to ensure that every learner is adequately equipped with the knowledge and skills to be in demand for the local market and internationally. It is equally important to guide Delta learners academically from an early age towards successful completion of tertiary studies in South Africa and abroad. To comply with these goals, Delta Education has at its disposal the services of a curriculum committee that constantly ensures that Delta's curriculum stays at the vanguard of national and international trends and requirements. This committee also ensures that the lesson material is continually upgraded and adapted to fit all requirements.

  • Delta Education combines within its curriculum the best elements and characteristics of the Revised New National Curriculum, the old '85-'93 core curriculum and the Flemish and British Curricula.
  • Delta respects and subjects itself totally to the South African Constitution and gladly complies with the minimum requirements of the new national curriculum, as well as the requirements of the prescribed assessment system and departmental orders as for as those requirements, systems and orders are not in conflict with the constitutional rights of the child and every citizen's constitutionally protected rights to freedom of conscience, opinion, practice of religion, culture, etc.

Will Delta Education's study material always remain current and will it be dispatched on time?

Delta Education endeavours to present your children with current, relevant study material that complies with all the latest requirements of the various curricula. Remember:  curricula are dynamic and continually adapt to the latest demands of technology and the labour markets.

This approach is essential to ensure that the learners are correctly and sufficiently prepared to consequently attain success with the grade 10-, 11- and 12-course. We dare not present your children with out-dated work that does not qualify for the NSC or other grade 12 final examinations. That would be utterly irresponsible!

This approach requires that the study material of Delta Education needs to be continually adapted and upgraded to comply with the requirements that changing lesson plans present.

Continual upgrading may cause some subjects to be delayed regarding marketability and availability. As soon as it appears that the availability of a subject will be delayed, Delta Education will inform you in advance and Delta Education will propose a special programme that will still enable the learner to successfully complete the subject in time.
